WHAT WE DO

Boston is home to multiple world-class medical institutions who lead the field in treating heart abnormalities in children. For this reason, thousands of families travel to Boston each year seeking critical medical care for their child at Boston Children’s Hospital. With the average price of a hotel in Boston costing nearly $300 per night, families risk extreme financial burden while trying to save their child’s life.

At Live4Evan, we believe that parents shouldn’t have to choose between putting food on the table and being by their child’s side while they undergo heart surgeries and other serious medical treatments. For this reason, we provide temporary housing to families who need to travel into the Boston area to treat their child with congenital heart disease.

Since March 2016, we have housed over 120 families in Live4Evan’s housing, with an average length of stay of 2 months. We currently support 6 apartments next to Boston Children’s Hospital for these families. And due to the overwhelming need and extremely high occupancy rate, we are looking to expand our housing facilities to help more families be close to their child during these overwhelming and stressful times.

CREATING A WORLD WHERE CHILDREN RECEIVE CARDIAC CARE WITH FAMILY BY THEIR SIDE

We are actively raising funds to open additional apartment and hotel housing that is conveniently located next to Boston’s leading pediatric cardiac centers. This facility will serve as a home-away-from-home for families with children suffering from congenital heart disease. SUBSIDIZED HOUSING

Live4Evan provides comfortable, fully-furnished temporary housing, at minimal cost, to families who travel to Boston for their child to receive treatment for congenital heart disease.

COMPLIMENTARY AMENITIES

Each facility includes electricity, water, internet, and other amenities. Prior to the arrival of each guest family, the housing is stocked with housewares, toiletries, and other essential supplies.

DEVOTED CIRCLE OF SUPPORT

The team at Live4Evan knows first-hand what it’s like to have a child with congenital heart disease and ensures that each guest family has access to a dedicated volunteer who can help them navigate the city of Boston.
