Introducing Heart Warrior, Nixon! Nixon is 9 years old. After being told by their local hospital that a heart transplant was the only option, Nixon’s family sought a second opinion at Boston Children’s Hospital. There, they were relieved and overjoyed to meet Dr. Hoganson and learn that Nixon had other treatment options available.
In November 2024, Nixon and his family made their first trip from Arkansas to Boston for a valve repair. They returned in August 2025 for his second surgery — a successful Fontan operation.
We are so grateful that we could provide Nixon’s family with a temporary, affordable place to stay while he received care in Boston. His family shared: “Live4Evan was something my son looked forward to for the second round. It was the home away from home he needed — we all needed — for so many reasons.”
