Since March 2016, we have housed over 140 families from around the world who have children being treated in the Cardiac Center at Boston Children’s Hospital. The need for patient-family housing continues to grow, and on average, we have to turn away over 85% of applicants due to our apartments already being occupied by other families. This highlights the urgent demand for additional resources to support these families during their challenging times.
Why Donate
Live4Evan’s Housing for Heart Heroes campaign is making significant strides toward addressing the critical need for patient-family housing. Launched in 2021, the campaign aims to raise $450,000 over five years to more than triple the available housing units. As of 2024, the addition of four new apartments has brought us closer to our goal, but there’s still more to do. Our mission is to eliminate the waitlist for temporary housing for families coming to Boston for their child’s treatment, ensuring that every family has a safe and supportive place to stay during such a crucial time. Together, we can make a lasting impact for these families in need.
How Funds Are Used
Currently, Live4Evan operates 7 apartments right next to Boston Children’s Hospital, with a goal of continuing to increase our apartment portfolio to help more families.
Live4Evan provides families with a private, comfortable and fully furnished apartment. All utilities such as electricity, water and internet are fully included. Prior to a family’s arrival, apartments are professionally cleaned and stocked with housewares, toiletries and other essential amenities. All funds raised for Live4Evan directly benefit CHD families in need of temporary housing.
